The Healthiest Employer of Atlanta honors companies that are committed to a healthy workplace through corporate wellness. Peach State placed ninth in the large employer category (500 to 4999 employees).

Peach State Truck Centers Hosts Successful Blanket Drive for 11th Year
Snow fell on the eleventh anniversary of the Peach State Blanket Drive—the family tradition turned company-wide charity effort for Peach State Truck Centers. Over 500 blankets and other essentials were handed out to the homeless of Atlanta on Saturday, December 9 by a group led by Peach State Technical Training Instructor Darryl Matthews. What started as a way for the Matthews and his family to give back to their community, has become a yearly celebration of giving for the entire Peach State family. While the need will always be great, each year more and more donations are raised. The 2017 Blanket Drive was the biggest one so far in terms of items donated.

Peach State Truck Centers Hosts Second Tech Competition
Peach State Truck Centers hosted its second-ever service technician competition on December 5-7 at their Peach State Freightliner location in Austell, Georgia. Fifteen techs from all Peach State locations qualified for the competition by receiving a high score in a written examination taken in September. The winner of the competition will receive $5,000 and a trip to the Detroit Diesel factory in Detroit or one of the Freightliner Trucks production facilities.

Thomas Built Buses, the leading manufacturer of school buses, debuted the Saf-T-Liner C2 Electric school bus, referred to as Jouley, at a NAPT press conference on November 4. Jouley is the first generation of Thomas Built’s electric series production school bus.

Peach State Truck Centers, “Hope” Sponsor of 7th Winship 5K
More than 3,400 runners and walkers helped to raise a record amount of money over the weekend for cancer research at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. The 7th annual Winship Win the Fight 5K Run/Walk, held on Saturday, October 14, brought in more than $932,000. Peach State Truck Centers was the “Hope” sponsor of the event, the highest level of sponsorship. Peach State fielded a race team of over 75 participants.
